Sean Tyla born John Michael Kenneth Tyler, 3 August 1946 is an English rock guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter, sometimes known as the Godfather of Boogie. Best known for his work with Ducks Deluxe and Tyla Gang, he has also played with Help Yourself, Joan Jett, and Deke Leonard, and appeared solo. Tyla died 17 May 2020. According to an appreciation by British music journalist Will Birch, Tyla had chronic liver disease. Tyla Gang, a British pub-rock, new wave band led by ex-Ducks Deluxe member Sean Tyla, released their first double a-side single Styrofoam, Texas Chainsaw Massacre Boogie on the Stiff label in 1976. The bands debut album 'Yachtless was released in 1977 by Beserkley. By then Sean had moved to California. In 1978 the second album Moonproof followed.
