Released in a gatefold sleeve as a translucent green colour variant and presented as a double to include the Sun Giant EP as a bonus. The EP has C and D side on the label. Also has a small sub pop logo on the back of the sleeve

Fleet Foxes (LP):
Recorded at our homes, our friends' homes, our parents' homes, at London Bridge Studio, and at Avast Studio in Seattle, Washington, through the Summer and Fall of 2007. Phil Ek produced, engineered, and mixed, except when we were flailing around at home, recording ourselves poorly for him to clean up later. This happened often. [...] Mastered, at RFI in Seattle.

Sun Giant (EP):
We all played many an instrument. An itemized and individualized list would be egotistical and tiresome.
It was mostly recorded in early January of 2008 at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington. We did additional recording at both our house and at Stuart Hollerman's Avast! Studio, where the EP was also mixed. The handsome Philip M. Ek was the producer, engineer, and mixer. All hate mail may be directed to him. Except mastering hate mail, which can be sent to Ed Brooks at RFI in Seattle, WA.

Fleet Foxes is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band Fleet Foxes, released on June 3, 2008 by Bella Union. The album debuted at number eleven on the UK Albums Chart, where it eventually peaked at number three, and garnered wide praise from critics, many of whom named it one of the best albums of 2008. Producer and Pecknold family friend Phil Ek had earlier helped Fleet Foxes record their first demo and used his influence to assist in shopping it to record labels. Ek described the demo. Pseudoanorith In reality I have no favorite song the whole album is amazing. Thankfully, I first listen to Fleet Foxes when I was young. They acted as my gateway drug to all that is folk. I can't get enough of folk now. Amazing album that never seems to get old or boring for me. Favorite track: He Doesn't Know Why. Jake Williams. Five-piece band based out of Seattle. The album debuted at 11 on the UK album charts, eventually peaking at 3, and on June 26, 2008, it debuted in Sweden at 34, eventually reaching peak position. About Fleet Foxes. The most inviting song set to come out of the freak-folkbeard-rock movement was a reminder of the simple power of harmony. On elegant pastoral jams like Tiger Mountain Peasant Song 22-year-old Robin Pecknold used CSNY-style timbres to build a clapboard-church choir of sound that seemed to exist in its own world. The fact that bands like Grizzly Bear and the Dirty Projectors subsequently pushed intricate, multipart vocals to the forefront may be a coincidence. But it probably isnt. Fleet Foxes Q&A. The band came to prominence in 2008 with the release of its second EP, Sun Giant, and its first, self-titled album Fleet Foxes. Both received much critical. Robin Pecknold, Skyler Skjelset, Casey Wescott, Christian Wargo, Morgan Henderson. Fleet Foxes ends with Oliver James, another nearly a cappella showcase for Pecknold's solo vocals. As he thumps out a soft rhythm on his Martin acoustic, he sings about handmade tables and long-gone grandparents, howling the chorus Oliver James, washed in the rain No longer. The brief snippet of Red Squirrel and Sun It Rises invites you into Fleet Foxes' debut, but Oliver James doesn't shoo you out the door. Instead, Fleet Foxes let you linger for a few more bars, leaning forward to catch Pecknold's last syllable
The translucent green isn't really something I'm a fan of. If anything 'Sun Giant' should've been orange or yellow and the LP black or dark green.. Everything but this translucent green that reminds me of this 90's comedy with Robin Williams called 'Flubber' but that's just my picky/superficial opinion. The music itself is wonderful and dreamy. Every listen feels like being a different world. Perfect for gloomy Sundays. Just close your eyes and let Fleet Foxes carry you away through distant forgotten memories. As for the quality, after a wash to get the horrible static away, there are no obvious sound disruptions in my copy.
First Foxes Pressimg i‘m disapointed with.surface noise and most parts its ok, but side D e.g. got anoying pops. it was quiet cheap for a new pressing, and now i know why...i never really liked colored vinyl
My copy sounds vibrant and powerful but the pressing by gzvinyl from the Bella union release (Bellav167) is awful. A lot of surface noise (after wet cleaning with RCM) that ruins this master piece. Disappointed repress on translucent Green vinyl.
Finally, i bought the first us Pressing. Its pop, no static pop...
You should post some runeouts for that release so that we know who pressed it.
Sorry for the late reply. This is the following release:
Ah I see, so the first press by RTI or?
FabDel I confirm the first pressing by Bella union is for me better ! Not perfect but quieter. Quieter than which press?
criminologue RTI? What is that ? factory pressing ? apparently the first pressing have too, some noise... Yes RTI is a pressing plant just like GZ. Those are the only two plants Im aware of that pressed Fleet Foxes first album.I hear the first press also has noise and pops but usually RTI is not as noisy as GZ. The first press will also be worth more in the future.
RTI? What is that ? factory pressing ? apparently the first pressing have too, some noise...
The second album (new pressing) is better but this album is ok for me..some pop but the sound is very good. I wil use my clean machin lp for see that is beter after. I watched for the first pressing et i saw that there is too noise and pop....(sorry for my english, i am french)
Yupp, that would be GZs craft at work. They can do better but its not a good plant in general. Get a first press from RTI I think it was, they do better pressings usually.
criminologue this is not the bella pressing hier but "Nonesuch record "...a little surface noise in quiet moment But great sound for the nonesuch pressing. Nonesuch does not press any Records. Both this and the other one are pressed at GZ.
this is not the bella pressing hier but "Nonesuch record "...a little surface noise in quiet moment But great sound for the nonesuch pressing.
