Emotion stylized as E,MO,TION is the third studio album by Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen. It was released on June 24, 2015 in Japan and on August 21, 2015 worldwide through 604, School Boy, and Interscope Records. Looking to transition from the bubblegum pop-oriented nature of her second studio album Kiss 2012, Jepsen found inspiration in 1980s music and alternative styles. She enlisted a team of mainstream and indie collaborators, including Sia, Mattman & Robin, Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid. Music video by Carly Rae Jepsen performing Emotion. Christopher J. Baran, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nate Campany, Ben. Carly Rae Jepsen - Love Again Audio - Продолжительность: 3:37 Full Album. E,MO,TION is Carly Rae Jepsens third studio album. Following the success of her mega-viral hit Call My Maybe 2012, Jepsen took extra time writing more than 200 songs to craft an album that reflected her own personal taste and influences, without being overshadowed by one breakout single. Working with crossover indie songwriters and producers such as Dev Hynes Blood Orange, Rostam Batmanglij Vampire Weekend, Sia, and Tegan & Sara, E,MO,TION draws heavily on 80s electropop, soul and even R&B influences. Carly Rae Jepsen posted a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album through her YouTube channel on July 6, 2016 . Album 2015 15 Songs. E,MO,TION expands the musical and emotional palettes. Producers Ariel Rechtshaid and Dev Hynes dress All That in 80s slow jam finery, with shimmering keys and neon-lit effects. Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend gives Warm Blood a sinister edge and a delicious depth. Listen free to Carly Rae Jepsen E,MO,TION Run Away with Me, E,MO,TION and more. 12 tracks 43:48. Emotion stylized as E,MO,TION is Carly Rae Jepsen's third album. It was released in North America on August 21, 2015. In an interview with Idolator, Carly confirmed that she had been recording a third studio album. It was confirmed that she was still working with her past producers, Josh Ramsay, Ryan Stewart and Max Martin while meeting new producers Benny. After taking time to regroup, Jepsen returns with E-MO-TION, another set of songs that are better than the average Top 40 hit. While nothing here is as instantly striking as Call Me Maybe, the album gives the impulsive sweetness of her big hit some perspective. If Kiss was the sound of first love and first heartbreak, then E-MO-TION captures how heady the ups and downs of crushes can be the third or fourth time around. Carly Rae Jepsen's 'EMOTION' goes back to the future with a start-to-finish solid, '80s-inspired pop record. The truth is that Carly Rae Jepsen has always been excellent, regardless of who's been paying attention: The album that bore her inescapable smash, Kiss, is almost notoriously underrated if such a thing is possible, packed with sparkling electro-pop gems with all the effervescence of a J-pop record, featuring contributions from some of the industry's finest songwriters. The result is a nearly anonymous album of stellar pop music, one where it seems all the attention was placed not on positioning Carly Rae as a cultural force, but on making sure Emotion makes you smile. I can't believe that I only just found this album and artist a few days ago. I mean, we all heard Call Me Maybe back in 2012, but I never knew anything past that, but this album, oh man, this album...I haven't felt this way towards a pop album and a long, long time. It isn't my favourite pop album of all time, but it's super close. Don't skip over this one, it's freaking mindblowing.
right?! it's such a tasty pop record, perfect summer time listening. i'm gonna be spinning this again a bunch when the seasons change.
it was just released at the time taylor swift's 1989 was ruling the airwaves. 1989 dropped fall of 2014 and emotion dropped summer of 2015, it basically got overlooked and it's definitely a shame because its so good! There isn't a song i skip on it and all of the songs pop really well and have catchy melodies, she really topped Kiss with it IMO. Unfortunately the singles, Run away with me, i really like you, & your type never really blew up. I heard the first two out in the world on the radio and stuff but they never got to the heights that call me maybe & good time did. Those are great songs too, but i liked the songs off emotion better. last summer i saw her perform at lollapalooza in chicago and when she played I Didn't Just Come Here To Dance people really got into it! and that song is on the deluxe version of emotion, so it's nice that these songs eventually find their way. Also i must note that as i am typing this that i will be seeing her perform tonight on the dedicated tour at the chicago theatre and i am super stoked!
I feel exactly the same! I only discovered her this month as well.
Don't let the lightweight vinyl fool you (probably just 125 grams). This is one superb-sounding record! I was surprised at how full, rich and expressive it sounded. Great mastering and pressing for this unjustly underrated pop album.
I expected a rushed, half-assed pressing of this album due to the vinyl craze, but thankfully that wasn't the case. This record sounds fantastic. Also, why is this going for 40 bucks on here when it's in stock on Amazon for 20?
The Marketplace on here is all kinds of messed up due to geography and nonsensical algorithms. I find stuff on Amazon or the artist's website all the time for tuppence compared to what they are being sold for on here or on eBay. I think there is just a lot of people taking advantage of other people's ignorance with no protections in place a.k.a. "free market capitalism." It has made me consider setting up an on-line shop but alas, I have a conscience.
I hope they end up pressing the deluxe version of the album.
Albums sound absolutely boss on vinyl. FYI I ordered it from HMV Hong Kong and they were able to get it in store within a week very easily from their supplier.
Copies sold in Canada come with a sticker over the original barcode, displaying the logo of Canada and "With the participation of The Government of Canada (Canada Music Fund)".
Was there a version pressed in Canada? Some stores have this UPC: 825396091520
Spinning on an ATLP-120, I'm hearing tons of pops all over this record. Almost unlistenable at times.
I'm playing this on my Denon DP300F with what i think is the same cartridge your table comes with and it sounds fantastic. Excellent pressing.
did you clean it? also are you using the stylus it came with?
is this a limited release or is it just sold out everywhere (other than urban outfitters)?
thanks sis ????
Happy to report that, to my ears, this pressing is terrific. There are a few minor pops on the first couple tracks of side B for me. However, I will admit that I don't have a crazy elaborate setup or anything, so it could just be a problem with my table, etc. That being said, the sound quality here is astonishing across the board. Audibly more detailed than the FLAC files I ripped from my Japan import. Also, I don't have to say this but I will: this is the pop album of the year.
That's great to hear! I received my copy today, but won't be able to spin it until Friday. I'm very happy with the design of the Inner Sleeve, which goes for its own design, rather than "bundle all the CD booklet pages together" like on Swift's Vinyl releases.
