Primus' first studio album wouldn't necessarily be a surprise to anyone familiar with their Suck on This days, not least because a good chunk of that album ended up being represented here. Not that this was surprising, but what was pleasant was how well and easily the at-once frenetic and extremely precise way the trio had around its spastic rhythms, translated into a great effort away from the stage. I just purchased this signed by the band at one of the Slayer/Primus shows.

I would say quality is sub standard but not as bad as everyone is saying.

1. Sound is pretty decent. It does have a bit of noise but not much. It has a pretty wide channel seperation. Volume isn't as low as some say.
2. Jacket is on a weird type of cardboard and isn't the sharpest but I have seen much worse.

It definitely could be alot better but it's not horrible in my opinion.

Awful pressing. The record itself comes in this awful thin cardboard sleeve with no insert. I've seen shitty dance singles in better sleeves than this. The art looks blurry and low quality. The labels are the only redeeming factor of the packaging of this album. As if the presentation wasn't bad enough, this pressing actually made me think something was wrong with my turntable. It's ridiculously quiet. When i have my system turned up all the way. it sounds like a normal record at 75% volume. For as great and legendary as Frizzle Fry is, being (arguably) Primus' greatest album, it sure has been dragged through the mud many times throughout it's history, and this release exemplifies that.

Besides the 2015 pressing having 18619"M" in the matrix, I don't think there's any other way to tell this apart from the 2002 pressing. In fact, I think both might be the same source. My 2015 copy came with a 2002 barcode sticker over the 2015 barcode number. Doesn't sound good either.

sounds good just like the cd the mosquito band center label is cool
