Complete sua coleção de Oattes Van Schaik Formerly The Limit. I only got to know some of the cuts on this awesome album by The Limit through Futurefunk samples. But there are some really awesome, solid 80 electro-funk tunes on here. This album really slices the crossover space between 80s Nu-Wave and a lot of the early SOLAR records stuff that was coming out in the 80s, like Shalamar, Dynasty, Klymaxx, SOS Band, Midnight Star, et cetera, as I feel the synths are a bit fuller and more to the front than a lot of the electro-funk from the era . The Limit later known as Oattes Van Schaik was a 1980s musical group composed of Dutch producers Bernard Oattes and Rob van Schaik. They released a full-length album in 1985, which yielded the hit Say Yeah. The song peaked at No. 17 on the UK Singles Chart and at No. 7 on the U. Billboard DanceClub Play chart. The duo also wrote and produced for other artists as The Limit Productions such as the hit single Love Take Over by Five Star. The Limit are Bernard Oattes and Rob van Schaik who released their first single under the name The Limit. Due to legal reasons they couldn't release their debut album under their name The Limit in America, when they signed with Portrait an EpicCBS label. They had to change to music from Oattes Van Schaik Formerly The Limit like Love Attaxx, Destiny & more. Find the latest tracks, albums, and images from Oattes Van Schaik Formerly The Limit. Also as a cover by Oattes Van Schaik formerly The Limit, I can't help but love this track. Favorite track: Destiny. epsitec Amidst the synth arises a primal groove that one can only shake out by dancing. A well done record, I hope more hits roll out. Favorite track: Sweet Love. Riyauichirau This album is damn PERFECT for my datsun, especially Midnight Promenade It's 80s more than 80s. Sounds are comfortably because mastering level is classical loudness. Fantastic album! I only got to know some of the cuts on this awesome album by The Limit through Futurefunk samples. But there are some really awesome, solid 80 electro-funk tunes on here. This album really slices the crossover space between 80s Nu-Wave and a lot of the early SOLAR records stuff that was coming out in the 80s, like Shalamar, Dynasty, Klymaxx, SOS Band, Midnight Star, et cetera, as I feel the synths are a bit fuller and more to the front than a lot of the electro-funk from the era, but maybe it's just me. The opener track, Miracles is a cool track. Cool echo effect on the vocals, lots of synthesizers, but with warm sax playing reminiscent of Hall & Oates - Obsession Possession (Song is in the same key too!) and that hard four on the floor beat that really gets you going...I love it. I would open up a set to it.Destiny is another fantastic track, reminds me a bit of There It Is by Shalamar. Groovy synth bassline, and the twinkly synths that are oh-so-indicative of the era. And yet the vocal is really smooth. The 3rd track, Everything About You, is a bit different from the rest. It's a more somber, slower-paced ballad that sounds like something Spandau Ballet or Go West would have put out around the time. Smooth, but a bit cheesy at that. Could This Be Loved, Say Yeah, Crimes of Passion, are all great tunes as well. Not sure there's really a bad tune on the album to be honest. Throw a party, throw this on the turntable, and dance the night away. You won't regret it. If you're looking for a more unknown gem and you're a nerd for that 80s funk, check this album out! 5/5

This is probably one of the hardest records to find on the planet, an excellent example of music from the 80's that can be listened to with out sounding contrived. The excellent arrangement of horns and vocals make you want to listen again and again. What happened to this guy and his music ?

Hard to find? Hardly...many copies around on ebay, discogs, etc. Perhaps use the internet?
