Album
Mo' Mega is the second solo studio album by American hip hop artist Mr. It was released by Definitive Jux on June 13, 2006. It peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, as well as number 31 on the Independent Albums chart. In the album's liner notes, Mr. What Mo' Mega does have is Lif's brief statement that the album concerns the intersection of lower-class culture with an increasingly modernizing world, and how the latter is adversely affecting the former. Lif scores hits on dozens of targets, both specific the President, the FCC, the United Nations, McDonald's and non-specific the Feds in general, the global community as a whole, materialism, TV, and, it seems, anyone in a position of authority. Lif, This long-awaited follow-up to 2002's 'I Phantom' once again reunites the indie MC also known as Jeffrey Haynes with producer El-P. Also appearin. Like The Coup's strangely simpatico latest album, Lif's frisky, humane Mo'Mega redefines what a political rap album can be. Read full review. When he began releasing singles in the late '90s, party rap and gangsta rap were the dominant styles most MCs favored, but Mr. Lif's lyrical agenda was a political and socially conscious one that recalled the rap stars of the late '80s and early '90s. read more. similar to. mrlif Albums. Mo' Mega. Album 2006 11 Songs. Hip-HopRap ' Mega is Mr. Lifs second full-length studio album. It was released in 2006 on Definitive Jux. The titles meaning is explained in the albums liner notes: Mo' represents the dialect of the Black slave in America. Mega represents the hyper-modernized world we live in. As the cost of living increases at an exponential rate, more of us are finding it difficult to keep pace. I feel that the term Mo' extends beyond race to describe the masses whom have not achieved elite levels of wealth. Mo' Mega is the juxtaposition of the slave and the elite with no common ground between. Mo' Mega 2xLP, Album. Definitive Jux. DJX129 DLP. Lif has quite a bit to get off of his chest, and delivers with a solid performance. There are only a handful of tracks I would call fillers which is common to 98 of hip hop LPs. The beats are the major disappointment they lack the EL-P character that distinguishes him from the rest. I get the impression that Mr. Lif put a lot more work into this album than El-P. The tracks that stood out to me were Collapse and Looking In. Responder Notifícame 1 Helpful.
