Master Sound Series 20 bit SBM remaster.

Note: the Japanese insert has personnel credits which seem to be riddled with errors (Miles Davis not playing on Spanish Key, Wayne Shorter playing tenor saxophone on John McLaughlin, Dave Holland credited with electric bass etc.) and as such credits have been entered in the global credits section without any breakdown on who plays on which track.

FYI: anyone looking for the original mix of this seminal album this cd edition contains just that. Less bright then the 1999 remix which became the default cd version (except for the Mobile Fidelity SACD) it has a certain mysterious sound aura that is much more appealing then the remix.
I would also add that the Mastersound stands on equal ground as the Mobile Fidelity, which didn't strike me as much of an upgrade; the Mastersound is just a tiny bit brighter, but has close to the same detail. Moreover, the SACD has some faint crackling sounds in the last minute of Pharaoh's Dance, due to tape deterioration.
