All songs were written by Kris Hadlock with the exception of "The Rose" which written by Amanda McBroom and made famous by Bette Midler. Venus is a novelty song with its double entrendre (play on words) and a word that rhymes with another word to be replaced to make the song funny. But if you listen and consider Venus as a woman and take the rest of the words literally, it is a legitimate story.
