Rear sleeve incorrectly states that "The Jean Genie" is from the Aladdin Sane album. The Australian 45 is the first mix, as released on the 45 worldwide. Aladdin Sane features a remix. Australian issues run slow though, providing an additional 15 seconds of music.

Release date code on rear A773 (July 1973).
This is the same date code as album Aladdin Sane, though that was brought forward to May for the album.

The picture cover would have been available at approximately the same time, therefore copies with picture sleeve are most likely second issues, as the cover image was not available until April 1973, four months at least after overseas releases. Whilst RCA Australia released were generally later (2 months approx) than the original issues, they weren't usually that delayed.

Note A2 stampers with pic sleeve and availability of A1 stampers without pic sleeve.

The Jean Genie is a song by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, originally released in November 1972 as the lead single to his 1973 album Aladdin Sane. Co-produced by Ken Scott, Bowie recorded it with his backing band the Spiders from Mars comprising Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey. According to Bowie, it was a smorgasbord of imagined Americana, with a protagonist inspired by Iggy Pop, and the title being an allusion to author Jean Genet. One of Bowie's most famous tracks, it. The Jean Genie Lyrics: A small Jean Genie snuck off to the city, Strung out on lasers and slash back blazers, And ate all your razors while pulling the waiters, Talking 'bout Monroe and walking on. Described by Bowie as a smorgasbord of imagined Americana , The Jean Genie was the first single out of the album Aladdin Sane, recorded during and issued in 1972 after Bowies first US tour. The album continued the saga of Ziggy Stardust as it evolved in The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The songs title is a pun on the author Jean Genet, but the protagonist, Aladdin Sane, is usually assumed to be based on Iggy Pop. In July 1972, David Bowie made a legendary appearance on the British music show Top of the Pops, doing a version of Starman that took glam rock mainstream and inspired a generation of U. teenagers to shoplift gender-bending clothes. Six months later, in January 1973, Bowie returned to Top of the Pops for a victory lap: a triumphant performance of The Jean Genie. I wanted to get the same sound as the Stones had on their first album on the harmonica, Bowie once said. I didnt get that near to it but it had a feel that I wanted that Sixties thing.
