Zoltan is an progressive electronic duo from London drawing from their long-standing interests in vintage sci-fi paperbacks and obscure horror soundtracks. Zoltan bring you menacing chordal sweeps, cinematic synthscapes and relentless, angular rhythms, with ambient interludes, Giorgio-Moroder-from-hell sequencers and bone-shaking crescendos. Pluton' opens the EP with a relentless crack and percussive chatter quickly joined by diva glitches and gyroscope bass stirring, before said low end rotations and hi hats resolve themselves into motorik syncopation, periodically cooling down before bursting back into life. Flipside 'When I'm' further ups the raver uniting stakes with crunching ST-esque kicks & snares and chiming vocals building into plunging breakdowns, all sucked down by a heaving space where the low end should be. Now reading: Zoltan Pluton. But its nonetheless nice to hear the injection of some young blood into proceedings. Pluton is the title track from Amsterdam-based producer Zoltans forthcoming EP, on young London label Granholme. Hes only got a handful of releases to his name, but on the strength of this hes got promising form driven by a swooping and diving bass pulse, it manages to find something to smirk about in amongst the expertly executed dancefloor mechanics.
