Harps are something of a curiosity, even to the other members of the orchestra: They're huge and difficult to tune. So when Yolanda Kondonassis parked Yolanda Kondonassis and Grammy-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux have both given solo Tiny Desk performances. Since then they've paired up for concerts and a new album of works composed especially for their combination of instruments. Although the harp and guitar are Kondonassis born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1963 is an American classical harpist. She is considered one of the world's premier solo harpists and is widely regarded as today's most recorded classical harpist. Kondonassis attended high school at Interlochen Arts Academy. She continued her education at The Cleveland Institute of Music, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees as a student of Alice Chalifoux.
