The Upsides is the second studio album by American rock band The Wonder Years, released through No Sleep Records and Run For Cover Records on January 26, 2010. The album was recorded with producer Vince Ratti at Skylight Studios in Fairless Hills, PA. The Upsides is the 2nd studio album by The Wonder Years, released by No Sleep Records on January 26, 2010. In an interview with Alter the Press, lead singer Dan Campbell explained the meaning behind the album: The Upsides' is just about not living in a world of self-defeating bullshit. My friend Max said it best last night when he said that he stopped listening to hardcore and started listening to hip hop because hed rather hear songs about how fucking cool someone thinks they are than songs about self-hatred. Every song I listened to for a long time was about being sad and that doesnt. The Wonder Years have announced the re-release of The Upsides, the band's restless diary of growing up, getting out and making the best of what you have. Arriving September 21 in stores and online everywhere, this re-imagined version of The Upsides not only has a new face to Upsides. The Wonder Years - The Upsides 2010. To favorites 0 Download album. Since their inception, they have released six full-length albums, two EPs, and several splitscompilations. The group is currently signed to Hopeless Records. Their name originates from a paper that lead vocalist, Dan 'Soupy' Campbell, read that was written by one of his after-school educators titled The Wonder Years. The Wonder Years have found their own little niche in that aforementioned happymelodic hardcore sound, and suffice it to say, the band make sure to let everyone know this throughout the span of the albums playing time. Anxious guitars and fever-pace drumbeats seem to contend with the urgency of the singers delivery on nearly all of the tracks on this album. In relation to the singer, it should be said that Cambells vocals will either be your ticket to, or your passport away from The Wonder Years. Hes got the nasally, yet earnest performance that Im sure many are familiar with having grow
