Released in 1976 on ABC Records, it contains tracks recorded during the band's brief existence from 1969 to 1971, but not found on their two albums from 1970. Love Is All Around - Eric Burdon & War. When War debuted as Eric Burdon's backing band in the late '60s, they were on ABC-Paramount. The group was still hot in 1976, and ABC reissued vault material from their early days in a deceptive package trying to coast on the band's hitmaker status. The album deservedly flopped, and ABC's clumsy attempt failed. This album is a posthumous Burdon-era album, where manager Goldstein grabs all the leftover tracks from the short but fruitful Burdon-War partnership. Released in November 76, when Wars better days were past them, Love Is All around is a shameless attempt at exploitation and making a quick buck. Not that it attempts to hide it at all, but the album is not bad in itself, taking unused material from their heydays. With a newspaper artwork ala TAAB, the album deserves a listen if youre into the classic War stuff. Starting with the unremarkable title track, the album plunges into a shorter versi. Only two tracks had been released previously: Magic Mountain was the B-side to Spill the Wine and Home Dream, though performed by Eric Burdo.
