Viva Stereo were born in the view to making music that would encompass a full weekends ebbs and flows. Saturday nights are important to Viva Stereo but with it comes the Sunday soul searchingnot to mention the grim reality of Monday morning and the working week and the combination of these are what give the 'stereo' sound its dark edges. Scottish experimentalists Viva Stereo are one of those unforeseen anomalies that you tend to read about every once in a while but rarely see. Previously based in Glasgow, the band have now relocated separately to other parts of the country, with playing live seemingly taken off the agenda in favour of recording what they consider to be their definitive record. Recorded throughout 2005, 'Patterns Of Behaviour' is finally being given a general release nearly six months after completion and is thoroughly worth the wait. Viva Stereo pride themslves on being a band that are difficult to pigeonhole with influences throughout the genres of folk, electro, indie, punk, hip hop, kraut rock and psychedelia. Part of Fifes Fence Collective which also includes King Creosote, , James Yorkston and Pictish Trail, the band have reinforced these links by including many Fence artists as guests ontheir albums. In 2005 the band followed this up by releasing their second album Patterns of Behaviour which again included guest contributions from Pictish TrailCandythiefFence Collective and Tara MascaraLanguage of Flowers.
