Like the other fourteen tracks on the album, it was written by Ray Davies. Village Green was recorded during the sessions of Something Else, The Kinks' 1967 predecessor to The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society. The track's influence came from Ray Davies's visit to Devon, a rural area in England. This track inspired Davies to use this village green concept as an idea. Our Generation is the debut studio album by British classical musician Tokio Myers. It was released on 17 November 2017 through Syco Music and features contributions from Ed Sheeran, J'Danna, Latir, Meave, Vera Hall, Guy Farley, Craigie Dodds, Hugh Fothergill and Alex Hepburn.
