A lot of soul singers tried to cover Jimi and though I think the intention was sincere and not meant to be overblown, it really was wrong to me as a Hendrix fan because Hendrix was a suitable vocalist, not a big singer, and not a soul singer. He was a rock and blues vocalist that suited his own work. The orchestral stuff was not bad music but did not really come across as translating Jimi very well like Michael Kamen's orchestra and Metallica collaboration.
