Album

The Party at the Palace was a British music concert and celebration held in London in 2002. The event was in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II held over the Golden Jubilee Weekend 14 June 2002. The event itself was hosted at Buckingham Palace Garden on 3 June 2002. It was the poprock equivalent of the Prom at the Palace, that showcased classical music. Live recording of The Queen's Golden Jubilee 2002 at Buckingham Palace. Total DVD running time: approx 3 hours. Code-Barres et Autres Identifiants. Barcode Text: 809478000358. With Atomic Kitten, Tina Barrett, Shirley Bassey, Tony Bennett. Well-known performers accompanied by 12,000 selected members of the public on the lawn of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee. Director: Geoff Posner. Party At The Palace : The Queen's Concerts, Buckingham Palace. By Various Artists. Driving Rain - Ultimate Archive Collection. The concert began with Brian May performing God Save the Queen on the roof of Buckingham Palace as a guitar solo with support from the orchestra onstage in the Garden far below. This sequence was spectacularly filmed, including some upward photography of May in full rock god mode and shots of the crowd in the Garden below. It has become an iconic moment and Brian May himself has said in interview that he hoped that he would strike the last chord at the same time as the orchestra in the gardens far below. Various Artists. Party at the Palace: The Queen's Concerts, Buckingham Palace. Your Rating. The Party at the Palace concert is a motley assortment of has-beens and time-wasters, a curious number of whom felt it proper to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 50 years by singing old Motown songs badly. The concert also features Lenny Henry shouting and an extended plug for Queen's that's the band risible musical We Will Rock You. Bewilderingly, Party at the Palace is not only redeemed, but made worth owning, by the four-song set by Brian Wilson, who gives a heartbreakingly earnest performance of God Only Knows, accompanied by Andrea Corr. The concert ends with a pan. Discover all of this album's music connections, watch videos, listen to music, discuss and Wilson, Mike Love. Originally by The Beach Boys. We Are the Champions.
