Mathematics is a b-side single from Mos Def's solo debut album, Black on Both Sides. It contains lyrics about various social issues and asks the listener to add them up and come to conclusions about them. Many references to numbers are found in this song and at times, Mos Def rhymes statistics in numerical order. These eerie, remote songs many authored by the pioneering visualacoustical researcher Dr. Max Mathews are in effect the 7090's magnetic impressions of mathematical equations imprinted on punch cards. Mathematics styled Mahematics is the twelfth studio album by singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester, issued in April 1985. The album was Manchester's first studio album since leaving Arista Records, her label for ten years, after her 1983 album Emergency. Signed to MCA Records, the album was a progression of that last album, in that it relied more on a synth-popnew wave sound rather than on her earlier singer-songwriter-styled records.
