This is one of the absolute best documentaries on Punk rock ever made. This focus's on the American bands that really started it all and not the British ones. To be clear, though the title might imply that this is a 1980s U. hardcore punk best-of anthology of sorts, it's actually pretty much a soundtrack to the film documentary American Hardcore, in which most of the 26 songs appear. Nonetheless, it does serve as a decent overview of the scene, if you want to take it that way, and is all the more refreshing for not concentrating on the more famousnotorious cuts you might expect from such a compilation. Hardcore sprouted underground scenes across the United States in the early 1980s, particularly in Washington, D. New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Boston-as well as in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
