Band: Turning Point Album: Complete Discography Country: USA New Jersey Genre: HardcoreStraightedgeYouthcrew Label: Jade Tree Records Tracklist: 1. Album 2000 38 Songs. 1988 - 1991 Turning Point. Turning Point are perhaps best remembered as the band that Lenola guitarist Jay Laughlin was in back in the day, but the extensive 38-track compilation 1988-1991 Discography shows that the southern New Jersey-based band was a largely overlooked component in the development from hardcore to the early days of emo. Songs in album Turning Point - 1988-1991 Discography 2000. Turning Point was an American straight edge hardcore punk band from New Jersey, United States, that existed from 1988 to 1991. Their early releases had the sound of youth crew, with lyrics relating to social issues or being straight edge. The later material was a lot more emo influenced, integrating more emotional lyrics, softer vocal delivery and octave chords. This eventually led the way for other straight edgehardcore bands to do so, such as Split Lip and Falling Forward. Behind This Wall, 03:48. Thursday, 02:11. Album: 1988 - 1991, Artist: TURNING POINT. Year 2000, Length: 38. Alternative rock music - download from . Jade Tree. Turning Point - 1988-1991. Turning Point - Behind This Wall. Turning Point - Thursday. 1988-1991 Discography 2000. Reviewer Hamish December 27th 2002. Now, that that's out of the way, who is Turning Point One of the more well remembered bands of the late 80searly 90s straight edge scene. You know the sound, you've heard it before with Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits and Bold and Uniform Choice and Chain of Strength. As the album progresses, the songs get faster and shorter, and the vocals get more Ray Cappo-esque. Plus it's on Jade Tree, so the packaging is excellent, and the booklet is filled with cool photos, lyrics, and an essay on the band. Overall, you're getting a ton of music, 38 tracks making up 73 minutes
