Don't Let's Start from TMBGs first album. Directed by Adam Bernstein who is a genius. Filmed at the New York Pavilion of the '64 Worlds Fair before it Might Be Giants, sometimes called The Pink Album, is the debut studio album from Brooklyn-based band They Might Be Giants. It was released by BarNone in 1986. The album generated two singles, Don't Let's Start and She Was A Hotel Detective. It is included on Then: The Earlier Years, a compilation of the band's early material, in its entirety, with the exception of Don't Let's Start, which is replaced with the single mix for the compilation. Dont Lets Start is one of They Might Be Giants' most popular and well-loved songs. This is despite the fact that it was a commercial dud as a single peaking at 94 in Australia. The success of this song can mainly be pointed towards its music video, directed by now-veteran TV director Adam Bernstein. The video features the band alternately parading around with rolls of stapled-together carpet on their heads, jerkily dancing, and performing in the old New York State Pavilion in front of dancers who are covered completely by the giant face of turn-of-the-century journalist William All.
