Recorded at CBS, London Talentmasters, New York and Gold Star Studios, Los Angeles, May-September 1967. The Who Sell Out is a concept album that makes fun of radio commercials. Fake ads were inserted between songs on the first side of the album. Pete Townshend considered this some of his best songwriting, calling it a remarkable song. He thought it would be a huge hit and was disappointed when it wasn't. Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn December 30th 1967, a video of The Who performing I Can See For Miles was aired on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'. Two months earlier on October 8th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart and on November 19th it peaked at 9 for 2 weeks and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100. The song in question was I Can See For Miles, which had entered the US chart on 14 October. The Who reached the top ten in their own country with their first hit single, when I Cant Explain climbed to No. 8 in April 1965. That reached a meagre No. 93 in the US, and three more chart singles in the next two years hardly tore up any trees, either. Billboards 30 September 1967 issue reported that Miles was said to have one of Deccas largest advance pressings. The single was rush-released in the US to capitalise on the infamous performance of it by The Who on the Smothers Brothers CBS network TV show. I Can See for Miles. this is a very nice french edition of the i can see for miles 45 from 1967, the artwork was obviously lifted from the 1966 a quick one lp, this one pops up often enough in great shape i feel the hardest french who sleeve from the 60s to obtain is the 1965 the kids are alright french sleeve as well as the my generation reissue french 45 from 1973.........
