I bought Emergency as a school kid and played it to death, a unique album where a new form of music was being invented. Sadly it didn't really lead anywhere, though McLaughlin of course went on to great success with Mahavishnu. I saw Lifetime with Jack Bruce at Oxford Town Hall in 1970 - a waste of time because the sound person had Larry Young turned up so loud everyting else was inaudible aargh - a problem that occurred elsewhere on that tour from what I hear.
