The Syn reunited in 2004 based around lead singersongwriter Steve Nardelli and guitarist Peter Banks. Banks left the band, but bassist Chris Squire rejoined. Their first full studio album, Syndestructible Umbrello was released in 2005. Squire left the band in 2006. He currently plays with Yes. The original The Syn lasted from 1965 to1967 and are notable for including both Chris Squire and Peter Banks both later of prog rock's Yes. Banks left the band, but bassist Chris Squi read more. The Syn was one of the first bands in the London early prog scene and its history is intimately related to YES' origin and therefore it was fundamental to the development of prog. Originally, the band was formed by school mates Steve Nardelli lead vocals and John Painter guitar around 1965, playing R&B covers. The Syn was later joined by the members of a band called THE SELFS comprised by Chris SQUIRE bass, Andrew Jackman keyboards and Martyn Adelman drums. Shortly afer, original guitarist Painter was replaced by Peter BANKS and Martyn Adelman left to be replaced by Icelandi. Syndestructible - The Syn.
