Lifestyles of the Laptop Café is the only studio album by The Other People Place, a recording project by American electronic music producer James Stinson. It was released on September 3, 2001 through Warp. Stinson's identity as the album's producer was not confirmed until after his death in 2002. Largely overlooked at the time of its release, Lifestyles of the Laptop Café has since received retrospective critical acclaim. For the duration of Drexciya, neither member revealed their names, so attempting to draw a biographical connection is haphazard at best. Released on Warp records, Lifestyles Of The Laptop Cafe was the first and only album released by James Stinson under The Other People Place alias, which took him from his usual sea dwelling Drexciyan techno to a warmer, more human sound. The album itself seems to go through the falling in love and eventually separation of a man and a woman. Released originally in 2001 and going for very high prices on the 2nd hand market, due to high demand and a web address by fans, Warp records repressed this cult classic again on double vinyl in the end of 2016.
