The Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble first appeared under that name in 1975 on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion Show on KSJN-FM Radio in St. Since then the ensemble has performed for many Scandinavian functions, including two appearances at the Leamington Hotel during the visit of King Olav V of Norway in October 1975.
