Other Voices is the seventh studio album by the Doors, released by Elektra Records in October 1971. It was the first album released by the band following the death of the lead singer Jim Morrison in July 1971 with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger sharing lead vocals. Other Voices is a 1971 studio album by rock band The Doors. The recording of the album began while lead singer Jim Morrison was on holiday in France. The song Down on the Farm was allegedly already written at the time of the recording of the previous album, but Morrison did not want to include it, for reasons unknown. According to Manzarek, some of the songs had been rehearsed with Morrison before he left for Paris. The three remaining members of the band regrou. On Other Voices, the Doors decided to go on without Jim Morrison but declined to replace him. The Morrison-fronted version of the band went out on a high note with 1971s L. By this time, the Doors had decided to stop playing live due to Morrisons increasingly erratic behavior onstage. In March of that year, after completing work on L.
