Although it may be that I am biased by having heard the originals so often although why re-record these works if not to invite comparison, this recording seems much less exciting. Most of the pieces are taken slower and have a very produced feel. Nothing like as exhilarating as five brass musicians and an organ pealing away in a large reverbarent space. Also, my 2 favorite things together, a magnificent pipe organ and brass instruments. You can't get any better thank the Canadian Brass. They are the best out there.
