East-West is the second album by The Butterfield Blues Band led by Paul Butterfield, released in 1966 on Elektra Records, EKS 7315 in stereo, EKL 315 in mono. It was recorded at the famed Chess Studios on 2120 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago. It peaked at 65 on the Billboard pop albums chart, but is regarded as highly influential by rock and blues music historians. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей The Butterfield Blues Band. A close friend introduced me to the Paul Butterfield Blues Band East-West album shortly after its 1966 release and let me borrow it for a while. I was about 14 or 15 years young then. It was very progressive not just for blues, but generally and incorporated so many styles and genres e. blues, rock, jazz, eastern music, etc. and such a wonderful presentation, virtuosity and group dynamic from these fine musicians. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - Mary, Mary. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - Two Trains Running. The Butterfield Blues Band sounded muscular and exciting on classic blues workouts like Walkin' Blues, Two Trains Running, and I Got a Mind to Give Up Living, but the highlights came when the band pushed into new territory, such as the taut New Orleans proto-funk of Get Out of My Life, Woman, the buzzy and mildly trippy Mary, Mary, and especially two. East-West would prove to be a pivotal album in the new blues-rock movement, and it was the Paul Butterfield. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band. 9 Songs, 45 Minutes. Released August 1, 1966. 1966 Elektra Entertainment. The Butterfield Blues Band's second album, East-West 1966, is less hidebound stylistically than their eponymous first album and uses modern jazz and Indian music forms that encourage extended improvisations by the harmonica traditionalist and his superb blues rock guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop. I bought the Paul Butterfield Blues Band EAST-WEST the same time as their original eponymous named album. Both are good. Both were a steal at 5 bucks each. If I were to nit-pick about EAST-WEST and I am I am surprised the entire group was involved in writing just one of the songs on this 9 song collection running about 44 minutes.
