Late 70s/early 80s Polydor re-issue pressing of album originally issued in France as "The Beatles First" issued by Triumph Records in 1969 which is here: The Beatles And Tony Sheridan - The Beatles First.

Contains 7 of the Beatles recordings with Tony Sheridan in Hamburg, 1961, plus additional Tony Sheridan tracks that the Beatles do not play on. Very nice stereo mixes. Tony Sheridan is not credited on the cover or labels but his picture is with John, Paul & George on the back.

Inside is all in French, describing their time in Hamburg and mini bio's including one for Stu Sutcliffe who does not appear on the recordings, and even a section for Brian Epstein but no mention of Tony Sheridan!

Track A4 is actually "My Bonnie" (without the intro) but is mis-labelled on the jacket and label as "My Babe".

The Beatles' First is the first British packaging of the 1962 German album by Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers . The Beatles called My Bonnie. It was recorded in Hamburg in 1961. It has been released in 1964, 1967 and 2004. The Beatles' First was released in 1964 by German Polydor catalogue numbers LPHM46432SPLHM237632 and was available in the UK as an import. On 4 August 1967, Polydor officially released the album in the UK, but with a different sleeve and catalogue number 236-201.
