Album

Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by American new wave band the B-52's, released in 1989. It contains the singles Love Shack and Roam. The success of the album served as a comeback after the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson in 1985. Six of the album's songs were produced by Nile Rodgers in New York City, and the remaining four by Don Was in upstate New York. The band embarked on the Cosmic Tour to promote the album. Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by New Wave band The B-52's, released in 1989. It contains the singles Love Shack and Roam, which remain two of their most popular tunes. The success of the album acted as a comeback after the death of former guitarist Ricky Wilson in 1985. All songs written by Pierson, Schneider, Strickland, Wilson except Roam, written by The B-52's lyrics by Robert Waldrop. Produced by Nile Rodgers and Don Was. Mixed by Tom Durack and Nile Rodgers. Engineers: David Cook, Tom Durack, Second Engineers: Ed Broo read more. Granted, the album was completed in the wake of Ricky Wilson's death, but the group appeared bereft of new musical ideas and were sounding rather stale. In other words, the last thing anyone expected was a first-class return to form, which is what they got with Cosmic Thing. Working with producers Don Was and Nile Rodgers, the B-52's updated their sound with shiny new surfaces and deep, funky grooves - it was the same basic pattern as before, only refurbished and contemporized. Once The B-52's released their underrated fourth LP Bouncing Off The Satellites in the wake of the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson, the impact of losing such a key member on the frontlines of the AIDS epidemic made it difficult to think about recording new music. The B-52's photographed on Sept. 27, 1989 in Munich, Germany. Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by new wave band The B-52s. It contains two of their most successful songs to date: Love Shack and Roam. Cosmic Thing Q&A. Producers Don Was & Nile Rodgers. Writers Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson & 2 more. Bass Sara Lee. Drums Charley Drayton & Leroy Clouden
