The Ninety-Nines: International Organization of Women Pilots, also known as The 99s, is an international organization that provides networking, mentoring, and flight scholarship opportunities to recreational and professional female pilots. As of 2018, there are 155 Ninety-Nines chapters across the globe, including a 'virtual' chapter, Ambassador 99s, which meets online for those who are too busy or mobile to be in one region for long. This is the great Terry Stamp, creator with his writing partner Jim Avery, of one of the great lost bands of rock, Third World War. I found the first TWW album or rather my then girlfriend, Pam found it in a record shop in St Benedict's, Norwich in 1979. It contains the song, Stardom Road covered by Dana Gillespie a friend of Bowie's and more recently Marc Almond. To my ears it remains one of the most extraordinary songs ever written. I tracked down Terry on the internet in 2004. I would also recommend the two albums I made with Terry, Bootlace Johnnie and the 99s and Howling For The Highway Home, but then I guess I would.
