This is the first «true album» of Thierry Larose, aka Tapeheads. Bricolage I & II are like small sound pieces destined to be glued together nicely in a celestial scrapbook. Or something as cheesy and ambiguous. Originally two self-released EPs, these Bricolages are the results of boredom and passion.

Bricolage I could best be described as a beat tape full of lazily edited samples. Genre: slacker experimental/beatmusic. Obviously. With a little harmonica and ukulélé (Acouphène).

On the other side, Bricolage II is a more representative look at Thierry’s singer/songwriter side (Griche), but diluted in various sounds, effects and eclectic rhythms.

These twelve recordings all come from the same bedroom. Jeunesse Cosmique, Montreal-based label, were the ones to discover and dub these recordings on cassette tapes (edition of 30).

It was Tobin's second album, the first released under his own name, and his first on the Ninja Tune label. The album was a departure from his first album, Adventures in Foam as Cujo, incorporating a heavier blend of jazz melodies and intense jungle rhythms. The album was followed by Permutation in 1998.
