Tangier hailed from the Philadelphia area and honed their skills through playing the South Jersey club circuit. This is a really great album and like their first, stands head and shoulders above the myriad of really average bands being signed at the end of the 80's. Down The Line Lyrics. Stranded is the third album by English rock band Roxy Music, released in late 1973. It reached number one on the UK album charts. The cover shows Bryan Ferry's then girlfriend and 1973 Playmate of the Year, Marilyn Cole. It was the first Roxy Music album on which Ferry was not the sole songwriter as multi-instrumentalist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera also contributed to the album. Though it was also the first without Brian Eno, who had left the group after For Your Pleasure, Eno nonetheless. Tangier wasn't in a class with those headbangers, and it never achieved their level of commercial success. Nonetheless, the band provided albums that were competent and likable, if conventional. Stranded won't win any awards for being innovative or experimental, though it's a decent, sincere effort that satisfies
