JOIN OUR CLUB may seem like just a catchy come-on from Saint Etienne, but membership certainly has its benefits like fan club-only releases. The single itself gets a peppy mix from Billy Nasty. People Get Real is a bass-driven call to action, and the B-side, Scene 93 is less a complete song and more an exploration of ambient reverb. Saint Etienne wrote the song after Heavenly Records refused to release People Get Real as a single.
