The smoothness had an edge in those days that extra bite to their music has long since gone. Picture Book is a great selection of songs, well-produced for a debut and even 30 odd years later is a great album to listen to. Read more. 2 people found this helpful. The only Simply Red album I would have. Pretty solid album but for me personally, the lower tempo songs are the gems and the faster more upbeat at the fillers. Sad Old Red, Heaven, Money's Too Tight To Mention, Holding Back The Years are the tracks that make the album and are that good, make the album worth buying despite the other songs feeling like fillers
