Shock Treatment is a 1981 American dark comedy musical film directed by Jim Sharman, and co-written by Sharman and Richard O'Brien. It is a follow-up to the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. While not an outright sequel, the film does feature several characters from the previous film, most portrayed by different actors, as well as several Rocky Horror actors in new roles. The film stars Jessica Harper as Janet and Cliff De Young in a dual role as Brad and the film's main antagonist Farley. But be warned, Shock Treatment has completely different subject matter which means no revealing cross-dressing, references to old horror films and no Tim Curry, but some familiar characters and some very familiar actors appear in a film that looks at the brain-washing nature of television. Shock Treatment is a 1981 parallel film to the events of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in this movie those events are non-canon with a script and lycris by Richard O'Brien and directed by Jim Sharman. O'Brien didn't want to scrap the songs too so he made a new script revoling the songs: The Brad and Janet Show. Back in the 90's I made a remix of the song Shock Treatment. It done on analog equipment and I dumped the mix onto a master cassette which I then dubbed onto cassette singles that I gave to a bunch of friends. Apparently these copies made the rounds and became a bit of a thing, which I didn't know about until sometime in the early 2000's when I found someone had made a video of it and posted it on a Shock Treatment Network website.
