This is the band's first concept album. It was Joakim's idea to create lyrics around Sun Tzu's The Art of War book. The artwork for the album was created by Jobert Mello of Sledgehammer Graphix. The Sun Tzu's quotes from the book read by a female voice are taken from LibriVox's audiobook version of the book, which follows the Lionel Giles translation.
