Rust in Peace is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth. It was released by Capitol Records in 1990. A remixed and remastered version, featuring several bonus tracks, was released in 2004. in 2008 by Capitol Records. This is the only remastered version of the original mix currently available. According to National Album Positioning Charts, Rust in Peace sold 1,116,700 albums in the United States. Using only the most basic punk influences - Ramones, Sex Pistols, Nirvana - Rust concentrates on the AOR undertones of Pearl Jam's Ten, which means they fall closer to conventional hard rock than anything that could be labelled alternative. Though they sometimes come up short with melodies, the band has a sheer, heavy power that will satisfy fans of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Bush. Perhaps Rust. Songwriting is top notch on Rust in Peace, and is anyone really surprised Back in the day Dave Mustaine wrote some of the thrashiest riffs on albums such as Kill 'Em All, Killing is my Business, and Peace SellsBut Who's Buying. But he steps up is performance on Rust in Peace. Another big reason why Rust in Peace is such a good album is guitarist Marty Friedman. Marty's skill on the guitar is by far the highest of any member of Megadeth past, present, and most likely future. By pairing Marty Friedman with Dave Mustaine, Megadeth suddenly had one of the most potent duos in the scene. Need proof
