Carnival of Light is the third studio album by British rock band Ride, released in June 1994 via Creation Records. The album showcased the band's shift from shoegazing to a more traditional, psychedelic rock sound. It was not well received by critics, and by the end of 1994 even the band members had become disillusioned, referring to it amongst themselves as Carnival of Shite. All tracks are written by Andy Bell except where noted. Laurence Colbert drums, percussion. This album really defies the shoe-gazer genre in alot of ways. It is their most diverse album, mixing up several styles into a glorious merger of shoe-gazing pop, psychedelia, and late 60's70's folk rock. It never feels rushed, is always musically diverse- running the spectrum from jaw-dropping instrumental passages to moments of devil horns in the air hard rock. Carnival of Light is an unreleased experimental piece by The Beatles. It was recorded on 5 January 1967, after the vocal overdubbing sessions for the in album Ride - Carnival Of Light 1994.
