Eyre was born in Barnstaple, Devon, England, the son of Richard Galfridus Hastings Giles Eyre and his wife, Minna Mary Jessica Royds. High Society was formed in 1980 by John Ford, vocals, guitar and bass, Terry Cassidy, vocals, clarinet and Richard Hudson, vocals, drums, guitar and bass.
