Made in Medina is a studio album by French-Algerian raï artist Rachid Taha, released in 2000 by Barclay Records and produced and arranged by Steve Hillage. Five of the songs were subsequently featured in Taha's live album. A video clip was made for Hey Anta. The song Barra Barra was featured in the American films Black Hawk Down and The Hunting Party and is also available on the soundtracks. It also appears in the trailer advertisement for the video game Far Cry 2. Barra Barra 5:48. Rachid Taha is not the first artist to blend Arab and Western musical styles, but he is certainly one of the most innovative. Born in Algeria, but residing in France since age ten, Taha fronted a highly political punk band in his teens, then made his mark as an equally radical DJ before launching a solo career.
