For all intents and purposes, a pop-fantasy concept album that effortlessly accomplished every goal prog ever had, without even being a prog band themselves. My favorite songs overall are on other albums, but as a whole . Queen albums, like the band, were brilliant, flamboyant and preposterous, and the work of a band who lit up the 70s and 80s and remain a juggernaut today. There are no total duds in the Queen catalogue, just albums which are comparatively disappointing. Of these, Hot Space is certainly one of the most culpable. It was Queens slightly misguided attempt to break into the dance market, and while they had the musical chops to carry this off, the whole thing comes across as a patchwork, inconsistent record. The main problem isnt the style of the music, its the songwriting. Best album by Queen. ANATO is too funny and sweet for me Seaside Rendezvous, You're my best friend and '39 are good songs but men. they are too sweet to be listened in order . Plus, in my opinion The March of the Black Queen beats Bohemian Rhapsody. And it has the best ballad ever played by Queen White Queen. Tremendous album As someone who has listened to all of Queen's albums at least twenty times, this is one of the two albums by the band in which there was not a weak track.
