Force Fed is the debut album by the band Prong. Although the album was recorded from January to July 1987, it was not released until early 1989, due to label problems. The CD version included two bonus tracks, the cover of Chrome's Third from the Sun and Mind the Gap, originally taken from the band's 1989 EP Third from the Sun also known as 3. Although the EP is no longer available, Prong still regularly performs the song Third from the Sun, though it is actually a cover of a song originally. Force Fed. Prong - Force Fed 1988. However, their debut album called Force Fed is good as well even though the style of it is different. Force Fed Has a Variety of Different Musical Influences. The riffing in the first song called Freezer Burn has a riffing style used by Chuck Schuldiner throughout this same time period. The albums in the 1980s had a more muffled and rougher sound. However, Force Fed does not have the same sound quality as Metallicas debut album so the riffing is not as raw but it is heavy nonetheless. Prong's proper debut album - not Primitive Origins. Prong themselves have said that Force Fed is their debut album. They once denied that they had one album before this one. Also, the music press often referred to Force Fed as the band's first album. Freezer Burn 's second independent release, Force Fed, showed great improvement over their aptly named Primitive Origins debut. Rather than resorting to blind fury and pure chaos like its predecessor, the album highlights the trio's developing technical skills as they begin to truly gel as a unit. Freezer Burn, Forgery, and the title track are tight bursts of power, alternately sung by guitarist Tommy Victor and bassist Mike Kirkland, and always propelled by the amazing Ted Parsons on drums.
