Poi Dog Pondering is an American musical group, noted for its cross-pollination of diverse musical genres, including various forms of acoustic and electronic music. Founded in Hawaii in 1984 by Frank Orrall, initially as a solo project. In 1985 Orrall formed the first line-up of PDP to perform its first concert at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. I admit I'm a rabid fan of the Hawaii, Austin based albums so it's a bit hard to be fair. The Chicago years are known as more techno, electronic which they progressed into but Pomegranate still has sounds from Volo Volo and even Wishing Like A Mountain and Thinking Like the Sea. I saw Poi in '95 during this release and they came across way more soulful, groove sound while this album is much more than that. Pomegranate is a music album by Poi Dog Pondering released in 1995.
