Album

I Trawl the Megahertz stylised as i trawl the MEGAHERTZ is an album originally released as a Paddy McAloon solo album in May 2003 on Liberty Records. It was later reissued in February 2019 on Sony Music under the Prefab Sprout name, as originally intended, with new artwork. After McAloon was rendered almost blind for a period in 1999 due to detached retinas, he was left housebound, and found comfort in listening to shortwave radio transmissions such as chat shows, phone-in programs and documentaries. EMI Music Publishing, SOLAR Music Rights Management и другие авторские общества 1. Esprit de Corps Remastered. I Trawl the Megahertz, Paddy McAloon's first solo album, is as likely to perplex and infuriate as it is likely to stun and spellbind. Grand, heavily orchestrated, predominantly instrumental, and not the type of thing you put on prior to going out or when you're in the mood for cleaning the house, the record is incredibly powerful - almost too powerful - even when held up against everything from Prefab Sprout's past. The most significant song is the opener 22 minutes in length, it's nearly elegiac in it its mournful tones played out by a swaying string arrangement and a w. Listen free to Paddy McAloon I Trawl The Megahertz I Trawl The Megahertz, Esprit de Corps and more. 9 tracks 56:08. I Trawl the Megahertz is the title track and centerpiece of Paddy McAloons 2003 solo debut. It is a 22-minute spoken-word piece accompanied by a sorrowful instrumental built around a repeating theme of swirling strings and delicate vibrophone. At forefront in the mix is the voice of Yvonne Connors, who recites McAloons mournful poetry. In his own words: In 1991 I went throug. Paddy McAloon's name is usually whispered in the same breath as other practitioners of the elusive beast known as Perfect Pop. People such as Todd Rundgren and Brian Wilson: sophisticates who know as much about George Gershwin's role in the evolution of modern popular song as that of Busted. The result is I Trawl The Megahertz: a nine track project so personal and removed from his previous work that it's been released under his own name. The album is dominated by its opening title track: A 22-minute orchestral piece with a recurring motif, overlaid by the soft American voice of Yvonne Connors intoning poetry formed from McAloon's random dips into the ether. Complete your Paddy McAloon way Paddy McAloon operates as an artist belies logic. Following the chronology of his career and separating the facts from mythology quickly becomes impossible. Entire albums get scrapped old songs find their way onto new projects stories seem too good to be true. If he had never released I Trawl the Megahertz, it might have been one of these legends: a work unlike anything else in his catalog that denies all of his strengths yet feels almost autobiographical. And so, I Trawl The Megahertz became a Paddy McAloon solo album at the very last minute, dooming it to obscurity as the album went nowhere, was hardly reviewed and infamously ignored by The Guardian, which had left McAloon discouraged after the fact and remained out of print for over a decade, its sole issuing soon becoming a rarity. It's not all too hard to believe when you listen to it for the first time and you're immediately given the radio jingle motif of its existential title cut, a piece that is part character study as narrated by Yvonne Connors, part modern classical tour-de-force. I Trawl The Megahertz. This song is by Paddy McAloon and appears on the album I Trawl The Megahertz 2003. I am telling myself the story of my life,Stranger than song or start with the joyful mysteries,Before the appearance of ether,Trying to capture the elusive:The farm where the crippled horses heal,The woods where autumn is reversed,And the longing for bliss in the armsOf some beloved from the past. I said 'Your daddy loves you'. I said 'Your daddy loves you very much'He just doesn't
