Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark is the self-titled debut album by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, released in 1980. It peaked at number 27 in the UK Albums Chart. Electricity and Red FrameWhite Light were released as singles a re-recorded version of Messages provided OMD with their first hit in the UK, reaching number 13. OMD released their debut single, Electricity, in 1979, and gained popularity throughout Europe with the 1980 anti-war song Enola Gay. The band achieved broader recognition via their album Architecture & Morality and its three singles, all of which were international hits.
