HOPE Is Just Another Word With A Hole In It NOTHINGs third full-length recording, Dance On The Blacktop, is the next chapter in the bands tumultuous story and like its predecessors, pulls from all corners of life with a focus on the bleak and despairing. Dance On The Black Top is a fervent, emotional tour-de-force, the sound of a band at the peak of their individuality. Psychedelic & Stoner Rock on the Blacktop is the third studio album by American shoegaze band Nothing. It is the last Nothing album to feature bassist Nick Bassett also the guitarist of Whirr and guitarist Brandon Setta. The album was released on August 24, 2018 by Relapse Records. In October 2017, it was announced that Nothing had begun recording a third studio album at Dreamland Studio in Woodstock, New York with producer John Agnello. The guitarist goes on to frame Nothings studio time in Philly as a working-mans bacchanal of sorts: We had friends stopping by with booze all day long, he says with a mischievous smile. Its completely sporadic, and it depends on where our heads are at. Once he and Setta have established the melodies, Palermo turns his focus to the lyrics: poetry modeled after his real-life experiences, by way of the books, films, and albums he devoured in childhood.
