Node is the third studio album by Australian metalcore band Northlane. It was released through UNFD and Rise on 24 July 2015. It was produced by Will Putney and recorded at Graphic Nature Audio in Belleville, NJ. This is the first album to feature vocalist Marcus Bridge after the departure of Adrian Cuerva in 2014. It also marks the group's first slight departure from their heavier metalcore roots and towards a more alternative and experimental sound. Node is essentially proof that Northlane could power on after losing a key member, and in most aspects it succeeds. There are some issues that detract of course, enough that naysayers will have fuel for their pyre. Some flat production and mixing issues that undermine some of the heavier moments, a couple of filler tracks, and Marcus divisive harsh vocals hold them back for now, but at least the band is doing new things with this release as opposed to a total rehash. The new musical ground will surely turn off some, but new fans are always out there ready to replace the old ones. Northlane fe. Текст песни: You can be the change You can be the change Pain is the elixir that keeps us entertained Flowing through a looking , the albums title track, sees the bands skills in amalgamating prog and metalcore shine through Bridges screaming vocals coupled with Josh Smiths brilliant crunchy tone wraps together alongside prog-esque riffs and a stellar lead to make Node an incredibly punchy track that is incredibly memorable. Node is a phenomenal display of NORTHLANES ability to restructure and rediscover, a solid album that is recommended for both prog and metalcore fans alike. Bridge has clearly melted into the boiling pot of talent that are NORTHLANE, stepped up to the plate and proven that he has what it takes to join such a well established band. RATING: 810.
