Big Hit' is the less representative album of Nitzer Ebb, a very interesting EBM band which are next to Front 242 as the best in their style. It's not a bad album, it starts really good: 'Cherry blossom' is a very interesting song which presented us the new Ebb sound: distorted guitars which sound as electronics. I loved Big Hit instantly, and the louder the better. The music is much more complex than earlier work but it still preserves that raw, abrasive aggression. Listen to any Nitzer Ebb music loudly and you will understand why it is called EBM Electro Body Music. Standing still is nearly impossible. Nitzer Ebb - Big Hit 1995. To favorites 2 Download album. Of all electronic-body enterpreneurs of the early 80s onwards (mostly the likes of early Die Krupps or Front 242), Nitzer Ebb catalysed DAF and similar trademarks most effectively. As the decade progressed so did Nitzer Ebb. From more dance-orientated pieces, and of course it's everyone's favourites 'Join in the Chant' or 'Let Your Body Learn' to name a few, the duo of Douglas McCarthy and Bon Harris proved a strong force continuing their progress. After predominantly electronic albums, 'Big Hit' gave it all a final switch to guitar-based songs, at times spiced up with grunge-influences, Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains alike. It might be a certain drop in Nitzer Ebb's fortunes but in terms of their musical maturity, 'Big Hit' turned out a satisfying affair to win the duo's devoted fans on a new level, as well as introducing themselves to a whole new generation. Unfortunately (or maybe not, regarding today music's tiring indie-cliches), Nitzer Ebb split up and experienced other areas of independent music business ever after, with varying degrees of success. But the 'Big Hit' still remains a strong feel. Enough to fill in the gap for the last eight years...
